I just reached 1K followers mark on Instagram, and I am so overwhelmed with the love and affection I have received from all of you in a span of just a few months. I want to thank each one of you for taking out time from your busy life to be here and read my posts. And giving me your honest feedback. I promise to write from my soul. I was suddenly struck with a thought on what prompted me to start blogging and how come it took so much time to open myself up.
Writing keeps me sane
I am a very expressive person. My mind is always full of thoughts and I need a way to vent it out. I always maintained a diary since my childhood days. I remember, sometimes after a fight with mom, instead of talking to her and sharing my thoughts, I would lock myself and write while tears dropped from my eyes. And now when my life has taken a major turn after having a baby, I sometimes really need that ‘me’ time to write my thoughts down, and it really helps me to get going.
Share insights
Throughout my pregnancy, I was quite up to date with relevant information about the development of the baby week-wise. There was too much information on few topics, and on the other hand some of the relevant topics were literally untouched. For the latter, I used to check with my pregnant friends or the ones who recently delivered. That is why I made up my mind to share my first hand experience related to pregnancy and baby care which would help a lot of expectant mothers. And now when I receive personal messages from these moms thanking me for sharing these posts, I feel ecstatic that I have been able to help others.
To live an intentional life
When I started blogging about my life and my thoughts, I started thinking more intentionally about who I am and how my life is shaping. This has helped me grow as an individual , as a mommy and a wife.
To become a better writer
I always knew I was a good writer, but I needed to work upon some of the spheres of writing. Now, after writing for two months I feel I can express myself better.
The Rush after reading positive feedback
Every time someone tells me that they were touched by what I wrote, it gives me a rush and it encourages me to write better posts and be consistent. Writing is my happy place, and I if I could inspire one person from my journey, I will take it as an accomplishment.
I’d be interested to hear about your motivations to start blogging? and have your motivations changed with the course of time?
Interested to hear your thoughts !

This is a wonderful post! Thank you for sharing your blogging journey with us. This post is totally relatable, as so many of us strive to grow and develop while spreading our message and helping others. I agree that helping just one person is an accomplishment.
Kudos on reaching your 1000 Instagram followers. Keep up the great work!
Thank you so much Franscesca. You’re too kind. 😊
Very nice to know about what motivated you for blogging. Some of these are same as mine.
Thanks for sharing your blogging story. I too love the rush of positive feedback. You just don’t get that as a mom. Your kids don’t run in and say, “Wow, Mom! Thanks for helping me get dressed today. Great job!” Unfortunately, there’s also the depression of negative feedback that comes with blogging. I hope you won’t experience that very often. If you do, just remember that the delete button is your friend. It’s your blog and you don’t have to keep the garbage anyone puts there. I’ve discovered that most of the negative feedback comes from people who are intentionally trying to hurt people’s feelings, so I’ve stopped letting it bother me and just click delete. It really bothered me in the beginning though. I hope you get lots of positive and no negative!
I love blogging and have been doing it for the past 5 and a half years!!! The world of blogging has changed SOOOOOO much over these years (sadly, for the worst)… But I will always keep on plugging away! 🙂
Great reasons on why you started blogging! I agree with each one! I wish you tons of success with your blog and I hope your passion for writing stays strong!
Finding motivation to write it key! Thanks for sharing yours with us and keep up the great work!
Congrats on your Instagram milestone! I’m happy to see that blogging is something that you love and hope you stick with it! As for myself, I started as a way to connect with others that share my same passions. It has always been a hobby of mine, and something that is still all mine since the kids have come along.
It was wonderful to read about your reasons for blogging. For me blogging is a creative outlet that let’s me express myself through writing, recipe creation and photography. But it’s also a business that brings in passive income each and every month. Blogging has evolved from a hobby into a viable profession – and it’s exciting to see that changeover happening right before our very eyes!
Loved to read about your reasons to blog. SO true, blog is more about expression and less about SEOs.
Blogging after a while can get a bit much, but its good to remember the reasons why and the positive feedback and adventures that come with this lifestyle do make it worth it.
Wow…I write to maintain my sanity too! It’s therapeutic somehow. Congratulations on your following!
I love this it is always interesting to hear why people start blogging, I think while may of us start for different reasons we also have many that are the same as well.
Writing has always been a passion for me. It was a natural progression for me to start blogging. I am so excited to grow my business.
Congratulations on your blog and 3K on instagram! I hope to reach as many followers too. Yeah. Blogging keeps me sane too.
I get you. Even though I was never able to keep a journal, I use to write when I was a kid to let the let the steam go. But my main comfort was art. I loved it from when I was a kid and I still do. Drawing helped me a lot, and also origami helped me calm down and be chill. It’s always great to find your something and stick to it.
I love blogging to connect to the outer world and convey my messages to them. Congratulations on reaching 3k on Instagram more power to you
